Emirates Developments and Italian fashion house Missoni have launched Waterfront by Missoni, a 250-home branded residential tower on Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi. It is Missoni's first branded residential address in the capital. The project was officially unveiled in a press release on 19 October 2026, with an early-access expression of interest (EOI) opening a few days earlier. Completion is scheduled for Q2 2030.

Missoni's first home in Abu Dhabi
Missoni is best known for its colourful zigzag knitwear, and that signature runs right through the building. According to the official announcement, the zigzag appears in the multicolour paving at the centre of the podium, across the cladding and again in the tower's mid-section, so it can be seen from the promenade and from the air. The oval tower is wrapped in continuous horizontal fins with planted balconies.
Unlike some branded projects where the brand only touches the lobby, Emirates Developments says Missoni's design language carries into the interior of every one of the 250 homes. Homes are delivered fitted and ready to move into, with integrated kitchen appliances and built-in wardrobes to Missoni specification.
Emirates Developments' Managing Director Tareq Siam said the depth of the collaboration is what sets it apart, describing it as a commitment to "branded residences that hold their value through design integrity and location".
Water on two sides and direct beach access
The tower sits in Shams Abu Dhabi on Al Reem Island, an established freehold community around ten minutes from the city centre. It has a canal on one side and the sea on the other, with direct beach access at its base. Views take in the sea, the canal, the city skyline and the surrounding community.

Everyday essentials are already in place nearby, including Reem Mall, Shams Boutik, Repton School Abu Dhabi, Reem Hospital and Burjeel Hospital. Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi's financial district, is a short drive across the bridge.
